Whitecourt will be hosting its Woodlands Rodeo next month on Aug. 4, 5 and 6.
“Well with the fire situation in June we had to cancel our rodeo,” states Malcom Heaven, President of the Whitecourt District Ag Society. “So we had to reschedule it for August.”
The times for all the Rodeo events include:
Friday
- 4:30 p.m. gates open
- 5:30 p.m. beer Garden open
- 5:30 p.m. chuckwagons
Saturday
- 8:00 a.m. gates open
- 8:00 a.m.-10:00 Breakfast
- 8:00 a.m-12:00 p.m. junior rodeo
- 11:00 a.m. beer gardens open
- 12:00 p.m.-3:00 car show
- 2:00 p.m.-5:30 WRA rodeo
- 5:30 p.m. chuckwagons
- 8:30 p.m. dance
Sunday
- 8:00 a.m. gates open
- 8:00 a.m.-10:00 Breakfast
- 2:00 p.m.-5:30 WRA rodeo
- 5:30 p.m. chuckwagons
“We just want to keep the tradition going,” adds Heaven. “And hopefully people will start coming back a little bit more.”
Rodeo officials say this is the second rodeo Whitecourt has hosted since the pandemic.
For Friday’s events, tickets are $10 for adults, seniors and youth.
However, for both weekend events, tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and $10 for youth aged 11-17.
