CRITICAL ALERT UPDATES
Update as of Jun 22, 2023 at 7:42 P.M.
Woodlands County has updated an Evacuation Order for an area along the McLeod River.
Waters on the McLeod River are receding. Overland flooding is still affecting roadways in the area.
Action to take:
- Residents along RR 124B, Twp Rd 593A, RR 123B, west of West Mountain Rd, and Stratton Ave, may return
- Drive with caution
- Inspect your home for damage
- Do NOT enter your home if the structure is off its foundation or any part has collapsed
- Contact your insurance provider for damages
- Avoid flooded areas
- Call 1-888-870-6315 for information.
The Order remains in effect for everyone along Twp Rd 593A, Twp Rd 594 south to McLeod River, RR 124, RR 124A, Cutbanks Rd and RR 123A.

Woodlands County has updated the Evacuation Order for Flats Rd area along the Athabasca River.
Waters on the Athabasca River are receding. Overland flooding is still affecting roadways in the area.
Action to take:
- Residents on Flats Rd/Twp Rd 600, west of Trestle Rd, may return
- Residents must enter Flats Rd via Town of Whitecourt
- Trestle Rd/RR 112 is closed
- Drive with caution
- Inspect your home for damage
- Do NOT enter your home if the structure is off its foundation or any part has collapsed
- Contact your insurance provider for damages
- Avoid the Athabasca River as banks are unstable

Woodlands County has issued an Evacuation Order for Twp Rd 620a area along the Athabasca River, east of Fort Assiniboine to RR 51.
Rising waters on the Athabasca River are causing overland flooding and will washout roads. Peak flows were expected in Fort Assiniboine last night and were supposed to remain high through Thursday.
Action to take:
- Everyone in the affected area must evacuate immediately
- Gather pets, important documents, and medication
- Call 1-888-870-6315 to register or for information
- Call 9-1-1 for emergency assistance
- Do not move or bypass barricades
- Avoid driving through flooded areas
- Travel with extreme caution.

CANCELLATIONS
Update as of Jun 23, 2023 at 11:08 A.M.
The flood warning has been cancelled for the Hamlet of Entwistle.
Alberta River Forecast Centre has cancelled Flood Warning for the Pembina River downstream of Entwistle to where the Pembina River joins with the Athabasca River. Some areas of the Pembina Provincial Park Campground have been evacuated.
Affected areas (2):
- Yellowhead County
- Parkland County
Action to take:
- Follow the direction of local authorities
- While the water levels are dropping residents and visitors in the area should be extremely cautious around the river and stay away from the banks
- Recreational use of the river is NOT recommended as high-water levels are causing fast moving currents and debris

ADVISORY UPDATES

A flood warning remains in effect for the McLeod and Athabasca Rivers in Whitecourt. An Evacuation Advisory Alert remains in effect for an area located along the McLeod River in Whitecourt near Highway 43. No evacuation is required at this time.
Action to take:
- Everyone in the affected area must prepare to evacuate with 1-hour notice
- Gather pets, important documents, medication
- This alert will be updated if an evacuation is required

A flood warning remains in effect for the McLeod and Athabasca Rivers. Whitecourt continues to monitor the water levels, and has experienced localized flooding in areas in town. The Evacuation Order for Sagitawah RV Park remains in effect.
Action to take:
- Evacuees from Sagitawah RV Park must register with the Park at 780-778-3734
- Avoid floodwaters
- Flood water can be fast moving and may surge, creating dangerous conditions

Yellowhead County has downgraded the county-wide Alberta Emergency Flood Alert to Advisory.
Water levels are receding and reducing dangers to the county. Residents need to continue to be aware of potential dangers and health issues both inside and outside their homes and properties. Fast-moving water may have eroded riverbanks and may collapse. Roads and bridges may be structurally compromised, please be cautious. Be cautious around high water on roads and on properties. Yellowhead County is in recovery mode, and there are still a lot of repairs to be done.

- Avoid driving into flooded areas
- Stay away from riverbanks
- Do not go in any water

An Alberta Emergency Alert Shelter-in-Place is still in effect for Peers in Yellowhead County due to high river levels.
The Peers Bridge has been compromised. Residents in the south of the hamlet need to Shelter in Place. Egress routes are being planned for residents in the affected area. Call 1-833-334-4630 for more information. Please call 9-1-1 for emergency assistance.

- Stay at your home if safe
- Avoid driving through flooded areas
- Stay away from riverbanks
- Do not go in any water
- Prepare important items and pets to take with you if evacuated.

High water advisory for Brazeau County
High water levels have led to some overland flooding.
Action to take:
- Please stay away from riverbanks and be aware of strong currents and undertow in the rivers
- Keep pets away from riverbanks
- Do not drive through flooded areas.
