With the holiday season upon us, the Town of Mayerthorpe is hosting their 26th annual Christmas Light Up on Dec. 2.
Officials note, the parade will start at 6:30 p.m., with the floats being judged at 6:15 in the Big Truck Parking Lot.
The parade will run until 9:00 p.m., with free train rides afterwards. Parade officials note that any kids wanting to be a part of the train ride can be picked up at Rexall.
During the parade and train ride, there will be free hot chocolate for citizens to enjoy.
Furthermore, there will be a few characters that citizens and kids may be able to greet, including Olaf, Marshall, and Hunter the Lynx, mascot for the Edmonton Oilers.
Following the parade and train ride, there will be a bonfire and Christmas music for citizens to enjoy starting at 9:30.
