With the holiday season right now upon us, the Whitecourt Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Christmas Parade on Dec. 2 from 7:00 p.m.-8:00.
Mayor Tom Pickard says this is an event most people look forward to.
“I know there is always interest. When I lived in Fox Creek with my family, we used to come to Whitecourt’s parade and that’s over 20 years ago and its always a good way to kick off the holiday season and its usually well attended and it coincides with the Christmas tree light up in the Town office that evening. So its basically the kick off to the holiday season for our entire area.”
Officials note, the Christmas Parade is a popular event that draws people to the downtown, saying a vibrant downtown is the key to a healthy community and encouraging people to gather in the community’s core for special events being an important component of that vitality.
