Parkland RCMP would like to welcome their new detachment commander, Inspector Kevin McGillivray.
Mounties say Insp. McGillivray has previously served in Vermilion, Elk Point, Boyle and Athabasca RCMP detachments in Alberta. RCMP say he has previously served as the âKâ Division Sergeant Major. Mounties say Insp. McGillivray has been with Parkland Detachment since 2017 performing several critical roles.
Insp. McGillivray says, “Iâm extremely happy to have been given the opportunity to lead such a great group of people at Parkland Detachment. I have seen some amazing work done in this office over the years and look forward to continuing with the many initiatives that are already underway.â
RCMP describe Insp. McGillivray as a community minded officer that has enjoyed volunteering locally at all of his posts. Having coached hockey, baseball, lacrosse and soccer, he remains actively involved in his community as a member of the Kinsmen Club of Stony Plain.
Insp. McGillivray is said to be a strong supporter of employee wellness and spends his down time backcountry camping.
