A 35-year old Barrhead resident faces 20 charges after an investigation turned up drugs and weapons.
Barrheard RCMP report that they observed a repeat offender selling drugs at a residence in Barrhead. In early July 2022, they began an investigation into the suspicious activity at the residence. As a result of their investigation, RCMP executed a search warrant on July 10. Thanks to the search, RCMP seized:
- A loaded 12 gauge shot gun
- 2 additional long guns
- 1 Rifle with a mix of original and 3D printed parts
- 1 Glock handgun that was in the process of being completed
- A computer and 3D printer that was in the process of printing parts for the Glock
- 210 grams of Methamphetamine
- 35 grams of cocaine
- 14.7 grams of suspected Fentanyl
- 1800 non taxed cigarettes
- 18 grams of Psilocybin
Among the charges RCMP have laid against the individual include:
- Three counts of Possession for the purpose of Trafficking in a controlled substance
- Two counts of Weapons Trafficking
- Nine counts of Weapons offences
- Four counts of Failing to comply with release conditions
- Possession of a controlled substance
- Possession of stolen property
The man has been remanded in custody with his next court appearance set for July 20, 2022 at Barrhead Provincial Court.
“Repeat offenders who are actively selling drugs and guns presents real dangers to a community,” says Sergeant Bob Dodds Barrhead RCMP. “We are pleased to have removed these dangerous drugs and guns from those that can do harm.”
