The Town of Edson has its priorities set for the next three years.
At the Town of Edson’s May 17, 2022 meeting, council adopted their strategic plan for 2022 – 2025.
The strategic plan is based around five main pillars:
- Creating a connected community that is safe and inclusive
- Fostering a robust and adaptable economy
- Responding to a changing global environment
- Ensuring quality infrastructure
- Providing effective leadership and community engagement
Before approving the plan, council was curious to know how they would know if the plan was working.
Councillor Krystal Baier asked what the benchmarks are for their performance measures.
Administration responded, there are no benchmarks yet for measuring their success, as the first year is about establishing the baseline. Administration then elaborated that some concepts, such as satisfaction, can be rather difficult to measure.
Town council praised the final document.
Councillor Peter Taylor noted how it reflected the different viewpoints of everyone on council.
“I think all seven individuals, as well as the four members of administration that were at our retreat, you can see little bits of all of us in this document,” said Taylor.
Councillor Gene Chouinard praised it as something new for the Town.
“After being on council for quite a while here, this was a new way we went, which was totally different to even the veterans on here,” said Chouinard.
The Town of Edson’s strategic plan is now available on the Town of Edson’s website.
