Woodlands County has its strategic priorities in place for the next three years.
At County council’s April 27, 2022 meeting, council adopted its strategic plan for 2022 – 2025.
The strategic plan encompasses five main priorities: financial understanding, infrastructure and asset management, regional collaboration, strategic economic development and tourism, and organization excellence.
Each priority is then expanded into a number of initiatives that council identified. For example, regional collaboration includes developing new relationships with their neighbours, cultivating networking events with neighouring municipalities, and a business to plan to help foster collaboration.
Councillor Jeremy Wilhelm called it a valuable document.
“We all put a lot of effort and brain power into this document, and it creates a series of expectations for actions for us as council as part of our decision making, but also for the organization and administration,” said Wilhelm.
Reeve John Burrows agreed, saying it will help to keep County council on track.
“There are so many good things that come along that are easy to jump at, and you end up losing your path to your established goal,” explained Burrows. “The bottom line of this is that on occasion we will say no to good things so we can say yes to better things that are down the road.”
The plan is available for viewing on the Woodlands County website.
