Whitecourt RCMP are seeking the public’s help in finding a car that was involved in a hit and run.
Whitecourt RCMP report that, on May 2, 2022 at around 9 p.m., a rural homeowner discovered an unknown vehicle on their property. The homeowner approached the vehicle and spoke with the male driver. After a brief conversation, the vehicle accelerated and struck the homeowner, who ended up on the roof.
The suspect then drove from Range Road 123C on Highway 32 into the Town of Whitecourt, and then down Highway 43 to 42 Avenue. The suspect then drove in front of the RCMP detachment, at which point the victim was thrown off the roof of the vehicle.
The victim was taken to hospital where they were treated and released.
RCMP are looking for a 2001 – 2005 Honda Civic coupe, blue in colour. The vehicle is believed to have damage to the front driver side bumper, a broken or missing driver side window, and a missing front driver side hubcap. Also, the driver side brake light is out.
