Woodlands County is bringing back late fees on utility bills.
County council voted at their Jan. 19 meeting to bring back a two per cent late penalty charge on customer accounts where payments are not received by the due date. This applies to water and sewer bills.
Council began waiving the fees in March 2020 to offer some financial relief to residents in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Administration presented that it is time now, however, to bring back the penalties as it will allow them to provide service as directed by the County’s bylaws.
Council voted unanimously to bring back the penalties.
