The Town of Whitecourt is informing residents where they can get their free COVID-19 rapid test kits.
Starting Dec. 17, the Province will be handing out free COVID-19 rapid testing kits at select pharmacies in Edmonton, Calgary, and Red Deer, or at select Alberta Health Services (AHS) clinics. Each kit includes five tests and instructions. There is a limit of one kit per person.
In Whitecourt, kits will be available at the AHS testing centre located at the Whitecourt Seniors Circle, and at the Whitecourt Community Health Services office at 4707 – 50 Ave. They are not available at Whitecourt’s pharmacies.
The Town would also like to remind residents that these tests cannot be used for the Restrictions Exemption Program (REP). Unvaccinated people must pay to get their proof of negative test result from a private vendor or pharmacy to gain entry to a business using the REP.
You can find out more information at the Town of Whitecourt’s Facebook page.
