John Burrows has once again been elected mayor of Woodlands County.
Electing a mayor from among the councillors was the first order of business at Woodlands County’s organizational meeting Oct. 26. Burrows was voted in unanimously. Burrows was serving as mayor upon council’s dissolution for the election.
Burrows thanked council for once again supporting him.
“I want everyone to know that I am speaking with the voice of this council. In conversations I have had, everyone that is sitting here is working in the best interests of the municipality,” said Burrows. “I am really looking forward to the opportunity to serve again.”
Also on the agenda at the organizational meeting was changing the meeting schedule.
Starting on Nov. 10, county council meetings will be held on every second Wednesday. The previous schedule was the first and third Tuesday of every month.
