Yellowhead County has hired a new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).
The County says after an extensive search, it will be hiring Luc Mercier as the new CAO. He will be replacing Jack Ramme, who is retiring after 18 years of service for Yellowhead County.
“This was not an effortless process,” says Yellowhead County Mayor Jim Eglinski. “As a council, when we set out to recruit administrative leadership for this region, we look for the right mix of management experience and passion to guide our staff in serving residents and stakeholders. Luc Mercier, as our new CAO, is certainly part of our goal to build a better community for present and future generations.”
Mercier comes with over 30 years of municipal experience, 19 of which have been as a CAO. He has spent the last two and half years as the CAO for the Municipal District of Bonnyville, and prior to that, Mercier served as the CAO of Woodlands County.
Mercier says he is excited to be back in western Alberta, where he and his wife have lived for over 24 years.
“I am thrilled at the opportunity to work with the dedicated council, staff, and residents of Yellowhead County and look forward to many years’ service to the region,” said Mercier in a statement.
He will begin the CAO position in Yellowhead County at the beginning of April.
