A Fox Creek man is facing charges for possessing drugs and stolen property following a complaint about a suspicious vehicle in Woodlands County.
On December 22, 2020, at 7:39 a.m., Whitecourt RCMP responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint near Township Road 583 in Woodlands County.
Police located the vehicle and determined that it had been stolen during a break and enter at a Whitecourt business sometime overnight.
The male driver was arrested and the vehicle was subsequently searched. Police located and seized what is believed to be stolen property from the break and enter and what is suspected to be fentanyl and methamphetamine.
The male was also wanted on charges out of Fox Creek and Grande Prairie.
37-year-old Matthew Edmund Duffy of Fox Creek is charged with:
• Possession of an illegal substance (x2)
• Possession of stolen property over $5000
• Fail to comply (x5)
Duffy was remanded into custody and is set to appear in Whitecourt Provincial Court on January 6, 2021.
